Days of seemingly endless routine of getting up for work so early, commuting through rush hours just to get to your workplace then clocking out by the day\'s end may be a thing of the past with the rise of work from home jobs. Whether it be just a startup company or a huge conglomerate, many are opting in to outsource manpower on different projects needed by the company. Millions, if not billions of workers, are engaged in online services, working at the comfort of their own homes.
Most of these work-from-home Virtual Assistants, which they call themselves, have had office-based jobs for years and belonged to the many corporate companies but have opted working from home. But why do many people are now opting to work from home? What benefits do they get? Is it really more convenient working from home? What is its effect on one’s personal growth?
Though there are no concrete studies yet on which is more beneficial, there is no denying the fact(s) that working from home does have some really very valuable perks (which I think is far better than a corporate world can offer) such as:
1. Increase in Salary
Most companies have figured out that the most economical way to financially lower down the companies expenditures is to outsource some of its projects to cut some of the expenses of the company, they can outsource certain departments or specific tasks. They reconfigure the work process to fit with employees working at home. Since they would be saving a fraction of the overhead costs of offices and other facilities, strategic employers would divert the funds to increase the pay. As a result, it is of the same skill level but higher compensation package.
2. Flexible Working Hours
One of the most beneficial things that attract work from home people is the flexibility in work schedules. Online employers are normally aware of the factors affecting productivity such as time zone difference from employer to employee. That is why more often than not, they are open to full time or part time positions. They are also very upfront about the working hours so that adjustments can be negotiated and expectations are met by both parties.
3. No Personal Interaction
Not all people are born to be skillful at social environments. In actuality, there are people with medical conditions that render them socially inept. They may be geniuses at their fields but in an office-based setting, it can be paralyzing to some. People who are highly introverts, Asperger\'s syndrome sufferers and high functioning people within the Autism spectrum are usually awkward and uncomfortable with large groups. Working from home enables them to take charge of their life financially while contributing to the world by being productive citizens.
Since working from home entitles you your own ever familiar, private home, this would mean no more strict dress codes, no more commuting through heavy traffic and no more mundane working routines. Most jobs online are of flexible hours. This may mean more time with your family, dabbling on your hobby or even just lounge around while waiting for tasks.
5. Amount of Workload and the opportunity to earn more.
Majority of clients online offer part time projects as well as contract-based projects, thus giving Virtual Assistants the opportunity to properly manage their workloads and earn as much as they can. This can be a perfect opportunity to take in different projects from different clients and learn new skills along the way.
Working from home can be challenging at first. Of course, there is as with any other company, a stage of testing the waters first. Probationary statuses are common with the first few months working with a new client though progression of position and compensation can be discussed with the clients.
